Law no. 190/2014 (Stability Law 2015), paragraph 703, art. 1, contains specific provisions regarding the planning and implementation of the Fund for Development and Cohesion (FSC) for the period 2014-2020.

As regards soil protection, the Prime Minister's Decree of 28. 05. 2015 “Identification of criteria and fashion to establish priorities for the allocation of resources to hydrogeological risk mitigation interventions" has defined uniform rules for proposals for interventions, aimed at reducing hydrogeological risk. These rules are intended to contribute to the allocation of funding from State resources, too.

With circular note of the Soil Defense and Seismic Risk Section, prot. no. 3143 of 17. 07. 2015, sent to all the Municipalities of Puglia, to the Land Reclamation Consortia, to the Metropolitan City of Bari and to the Apulian Provinces and, for information, to the Prefectures and to the competent Basin Authorities on the Apulian territory, the above mentioned DPCM has been sent, in order to make its contents known to the Authorities in charge of proposing the applications for hydrogeological risk mitigation interventions to contribute to the allocation of state funds, in accordance with the provisions of the Ministry of the Environment and Protection of Land and Sea (MATTM ) and of the Mission Structure against hydrogeological instability and for the development of water infrastructures (hereinafter referred to as Mission Structure), established at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers with the Prime Minister's Decree of 27/5/2014.
